Salatiga, Central Java – PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) has once again continued its consistency in the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in the education sector. This time, April 11, 2025, TMMIN handed over a direct donation in the form of educational props in the form of 1 unit of Fortuner car to support the practical activities of students of the State Vocational High School (SMKN) 2 Salatiga, Central Java, which is also one of PT TMMIN's fostered vocational schools.
In accordance with the principle of "We Make People Before We Make Product", the donation of educational aids is in line with TMMIN's commitment to develop the capabilities of the nation's children, especially in the field of practicum in vocational programs in Indonesia. Through the strategic initiative to develop practicum activities at vocational schools, TMMIN seeks to prepare the younger generation to face the industrial world which requires graduates to be ready to work with skilled practical skills.
"In an effort to produce ready-to-use industrial human resources, we implement social contribution programs, especially in the field of education that focus on the employability of vocational school graduates. We believe that education in vocational education is an important factor in supporting the quality of the nation's children. So that the challenge of the gap between the increasingly diverse needs of the industry can be answered with the younger generation who are skilled in work practices. Hopefully this donation can make a real contribution to the development of vocational education programs for vocational schools in Indonesia," said Bob Azam, Vice President Director of PT TMMIN.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) runs the Industrial Culture Implementation program at the fostered vocational schools evenly in various regions as an effort to produce vocational graduates who are superior and ready to work. This program instills industrial cultural values from an early age, including discipline, efficiency, and work standards, so that students have high competitiveness. Through industry-based training, TMMIN equips them with the skills needed by the world of work, so that they are better prepared to face the selection process and competitive industry challenges.
Improving the Quality of Vocational Graduates Answering the Challenges of the Industrial World
TMMIN continues to support the revitalization and improvement of vocational education in the domestic industry. It aims to improve the quality of vocational education by providing students with direct access to the latest automotive technology used in the industry. Previously, TMMIN also donated to 28 fostered vocational schools in West Java, Central Java, East Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In addition to the donation of educational aids in the form of vehicles, TMMIN also provides certified training consisting of 5Rs (Concise, Neat, Resik, Careful, and Diligent), Safety, Toyota Job Instruction, Toyota Production System, and Kaizen/improvement for teachers in an effort to introduce and implement industrial culture as part of curriculum development so that it can be adopted by the fostered vocational schools so as to produce graduates with up-to-date skills relevant to the industrial world.

The principles of work culture such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Respect to People are the basic values that are conveyed especially in the production system and company culture. Industrial involvement in the fostered vocational school development program can directly increase the employability of graduates, because it is in accordance with the curriculum that reflects the needs of the industry. Vocational schools play a critical role in preparing students to enter the workforce, especially in the field of automotive technology. Because of this, students need to work with up-to-date technological equipment and vehicles that are relevant to the latest technologies used in the industry.
