Jakarta (26/02) – Opening a new chapter in 2026, Toyota Indonesia exported 298,457 vehicles, nearly reaching the 300,000-unit milestone, under the Toyota brand throughout January–December 2025. Based on GAIKINDO data, this export performance increased by 8% compared to the previous year's export figure of 276,089 units. From 2020 to 2025, Toyota Indonesia consistently contributed around 60% of Indonesia’s total Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle exports. This export growth is also in line with the national automotive industry's export performance, which has continued to record a positive trend over the last five years, with total national vehicle exports reaching 518,212 units in 2025. Cumulatively, from 1987 until the end of 2025, Toyota Indonesia has exported 3,151,794 vehicles produced by Indonesian talent to more than 100 countries across Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and Oceania.

“This export achievement by Toyota Indonesia, which has nearly reached 300,000 units, was made possible thanks to the support of the Indonesian Government, the public, stakeholders, and the strong national automotive industry supply chain from upstream to downstream. We believe that the increase in automotive product exports throughout 2025, including both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and electrified vehicles, can strengthen the foundation of Indonesia’s automotive industry and further contribute to the national trade balance. This is particularly important given the automotive sector’s role as one of the pillars of economic growth,” said Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT TMMIN.

Toyota Indonesia’s leading export models include the Kijang Innova Zenix Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Hybrid Electrified Vehicle (HEV), Veloz, Fortuner, and Yaris Cross (ICE and HEV). Global market demand for electrified vehicles manufactured by Indonesia’s workforce reached 22,868 units in 2025, representing a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2024, which recorded 18,553 units. This export performance complements the achievements of the national automotive industry.
“This achievement could not have been realized through a short process, but rather required years of hard work and dedication. The journey of building Indonesia’s national automotive industry began with import activities in the 1970s, followed by large-scale production of engines, components, production tools, and complete vehicles. Along with the increase in local content levels, which have now reached 80%, we continue to support the strengthening of the national automotive industry through the production and export of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles, as well as several electrified models such as the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV,” concluded Bob Azam, Vice President Director of PT TMMIN.
